stamina TEMPLAR dps guide

Updated for the Deadlands DLC

Remember to treat this as a base to work from…
Always adjust as needed for your specific situation!

the build basics

top races

  • Wood Elf, Imperial and Redguard are all very good too

  • Really any race is fine unless you are trying to min/max every last %

mundus stone

  • The Thief is generally the strongest for PvE

  • The Lover can be okay if you find yourself far below the penetration cap of 18200 (this # includes your group’s debuffs)

food/drinks

  • Bi-stat Health + Stamina is the best if you can sustain with it

  • Lava Foot is great if you don’t mind being a little squishier

  • Artaeum + Dubious are a little less damage but are a nice middle ground of health/sustain/damage

potions

  • The Essence of Weapon Power Potions are highly recommended for Veteran content

  • If you are running Minor Heroism or trash potions, you need someone casting Igneous Weapons or have Hircine’s Rage slotted for Major Brutality and Camouflaged Hunter for Major Savagery

champion points

  • Fighting Finesse > Backstabber if you can’t flank

  • Thaumaturge > Backstabber if you are over the crit dmg cap (wearing the kilt or group is optimized for crit damage)

  • Thaumaturge or Fighting Finesse > Deadly Aim for AoE heavy damage encounters

gear

Different situations will call for different loadouts - These are some of my favorite combos:

  • This particular setup involves keeping your Magicka pool low to make full use of the set Bahsei’s Mania

  • Works really well with both the Kilt and Monster Set variations of the setup

  • Kinras’s Wrath does a tiny bit more damage if you can reliably keep it up, but if you are dropping your stacks at all then Deadly Strike will outperform it

    • Can also use any of the upcoming Medium Armor options in that front bar slot with this setup too, these are just the ones that got me the best results

Need help deciding which monster set to run? Check out my latest review of them here

*AY = “Advancing Yokeda” aka “Berserking Warrior”

Other options for these two setups:

  • The Blackrose Prison dual wield “Spectral Cloak” set can be used on the back bar for some increased mitigation but will be a small DPS loss

    • Infused + Infused for the back bar traits with Poison + Flame glyphs

  • Depending on the sets, you can also mix and match other combos together too, such as Tzogvin and Aegis Caller for example

    • Just make sure your body set is one in medium weight

  • A Mace can also be used in place of one of the Daggers if you are finding yourself short on Penetration

  • This setup allows for two 5pc sets, a Monster set, and a Mythic

  • Again, you could replace Relequen/Sul-xan/Kinras’s with one of the previous sets listed if you want

  • A Mace can also be used in place of one of the Daggers if you are finding yourself short on Penetration

With ALL of the listed setups: Light Armor pieces will be stronger where slottable if under the penetration cap, otherwise Medium Armor pieces are stronger

skills / rotations

  • If you don’t like keeping up Power of the Light, it isn’t much less DPS to just slot Silver Shards for the Fighter’s Guild passives and cast more Biting Jabs

  • That backbar flex spot is where you can slot a heal like Vigor if you need one

  • If using Blackrose Prison Dual Wield on the front bar you will need to slot Deadly Cloak in the flex spot

  • Click here for the essential passives to unlock

  • If you aren’t running Power of the Light, just replace that cast in each of these with an additional cast of Biting Jabs, though sustain will be tougher

  • Avoid casting all 3 backbar DoTs + your Ultimate in a row if you are running Kinras’s or another stacking set, as your stacks will likely drop doing 4 abilities in a row

  • The “Alternated to This” spot under the “Repeating” section is essentially just delaying the Blazing Spear cast a little if you don’t have enough Magicka resources to cast it when you get to it

    • Then you can further delay it again from that section if needed to go back to the original section where you cast it in a row with your backbar DoTs

  • If you aren’t running Power of the Light, just replace that cast in each of these with an additional cast of Biting Jabs, though sustain will be tougher

  • If you are not running a Two-Handed backbar, use the appropriate rotation from the chart above this one and follow the same principles used here

    • Cast Blazing Spear with your backbar DoTs and then do 1 less cast of Biting Jabs

    • Or delay it until after one of your Power of the Light casts and replace a cast of Biting Jabs in that section
